Designed for tactical airlift missions, the C-130 is the primary aircraft for transporting troops and equipment for the U.S.
Air Force and allied nations. Rockwell Collins' avionics and display systems have been selected to provide Communication,
Navigation and Surveillance/Global Air Traffic Management (CNS/GATM) cockpit upgrades for a number of C-130 aircraft customers.
C-130 International Rockwell Collins provides total avionics systems solutions for several international C-130 upgrade programs. As part of our
integrated offering, we directly supply the flight management systems, displays, autopilot, weather radar, Traffic Alert Collision
Avoidance System (TCAS) and the complete suite of radio communications/navigation equipment. Installation of these components
onto the C-130 provides a highly integrated flight deck system with a glass cockpit for improved situational awareness, reduced
crew workload and enhanced safety features, as well as all Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management
(CNS/ATM) capabilities. Rockwell Collins' development of the 6- x 8-inch Multi-Function Display (MFD) display family, specifically
designed for the C-130, also brings expanded utility and capability to the cockpit. Our FMS-800 solution has been selected
for C-130 upgrade programs in Canada, Denmark, Greece, Jordan and Pakistan, while our Flight2™ solution has been selected
for C-130 upgrade programs in Egypt, Thailand and Singapore.
C-130 AMP Rockwell Collins is supplying displays, communications and navigation solutions to The Boeing Company for the U.S. Air Force
C-130 Avionics Modernization Program (AMP). Together, these products will further augment and enhance the aircraft's operational
capabilities, allowing it to meet requirements for the Global Air Traffic Management (GATM) environment.
Our Head Up Display (HUD) system is a compact and high performance full color and text display for both commercial and military
aerospace applications. In addition to the HUD, Rockwell Collins is supplying our 6- x 8-inch Multi-Function Displays, increasing
pilot situational awareness and enhancing crew effectiveness by enabling in-flight mission planning. Certain C-130 AMP customers
will also install the new Rockwell Collins MFD-2912 display, which is based on the same open systems architecture as the other
MFD display families and shares components with the new commercial Boeing 787 cockpit displays. Communication and navigation
products for the C-130 AMP include AN/ARC-210 radios, SAT-2000 satellite communications system, multi-mode receivers, automatic
direction finder and high frequency data link upgrades.
