Rockwell Collins' family of soldier-worn and helmet mounted display Systems provide the dismounted Soldier with increased
situational awareness. Designed for modularity and low-power operation, Rockwell Collins' solutions improve mission success
by displaying multi-spectral imagery and information on high resolution Soldier displays, improving mobility and survivability.
Enhanced all-weather day and night vision improves the dismounted Soldier's effectiveness to complete missions under the most
extreme conditions.
Land Warrior Rockwell Collins designs and manufactures the Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) and Daylight Video Sight (DVS) for the U.S. Army's
Land Warrior Stryker Interoperable (LW-SI), Side-by-side (SBS) and SBS Production programs. The Land Warrior system is designed
to completely revolutionize today's Soldier by dramatically improving communications, lethality, survivability and global
navigation capabilities. Our high-resolution HMD is compact, versatile, lightweight and extremely rugged with low power consumption.
The DVS is mounted to the Soldier's weapon to enable targeting through the HMD.
Future Force Warrior Rockwell Collins is the Integrated Product Team Lead and integrator for the headgear system for Phase II of the U.S. Army's
Future Force Warrior (FFW) Advanced Technology Demonstration program. The headgear system includes the latest in fused multi-spectral
sensors, displays, communications and ballistic material technologies. The FFW program is designed to provide the core network-centric
Soldier system that will be deployed to all dismounted Soldiers.
Mounted Warrior Rockwell Collins has been selected by General Dynamics C4 Systems to provide HMDs for Increment I of the Mounted Warrior (MW)
program. A major U.S. Army development program, Mounted Warrior equips Army crew members assigned to Stryker vehicles with
color HMDs for hands-free viewing and increased situational awareness. The recommended HMD of choice as demonstrated to the
Army and General Dynamics is the ProView S035 monocular. This selection illustrates design re-use opportunities across General
Dynamics' warrior programs since Rockwell Collins' HMD is currently qualified for use in the Army's Land Warrior program.
Soldier Mobility and Rifle Targeting Systems (SMaRTS) Rockwell Collins also provides Soldier Mobility and Rifle Targeting Systems (SMaRTS), which is a standalone helmet-mounted
system with fused multi-spectral sensors, high-resolution HMD and weapon interface to improve the Soldier's situational awareness,
mobility and engagement.
Rockwell Collins' Soldier Systems also includes the Air Warrior Block 3 and the Multispectral Adaptive Networked Tactical
Imaging System (MANTIS).
Tank Urban Survivability Kit (TUSK) Rockwell Collins has delivered the first 505 Helmet Mounted Displays (HMDs) for the Tank Urban Survivability Kit (TUSK) program.
TUSK is apart of an overall upgrade that is designed to provide the crews of the M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams tanks enhanced survivability
in urban environments.
As part of the TUSK program, Rockwell Collins is supplying our HMD for the Loaders Thermal Weapon Sight (LTWS), which is being
used as a remote viewer. The LTWS viewer is based on the same proven HMD that was fielded for the Land Warrior (LW) and Mounted
Warrior Soldier System (MWSS) programs. This new capability allows the loader to identify and engage targets in day or night
combat situations with the M240 machine gun from a position inside the tank.
The LTWS is provided to General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) by the Raytheon Company. Rockwell Collins and Raytheon LTWS components
are included in the GDLS LTWS Kit.
RARO Rockwell Collins supplies the Remote Aerial Refueling Operator (RARO) II HMD used for the Boeing KC-767 International Tanker
Program. RARO II enables aircrews to perform aerial refueling through remote-vision systems by incorporating a stereo vision
camera system flush-mounted into the aircraft fuselage. The digital video is viewed stereoscopically using the flight-qualified
Rockwell Collins RARO head mounted display.
Proview SODAS To enhance situational awareness for ground users, Rockwell Collins has integrated our ProView™ SO35-A Helmet Mounted Display
(HMD) with the extremely rugged Dual Aperture Visible Sight (DAVS 200) system to create the ProView SODAS-35 vision system.
This durable and light weight system allows operators to adjust brightness or select video sources to view computer information,
maps, GPS, data messaging and live video. With the DAVS 200 capabilities, this system mounts on a standard weapon which allows
users to look around a corner without physically moving into potential danger by relaying the image to the HMD. It also offers
magnification Field of Views (FOVs) of 1.5, 6 and 12 that provide target recognition from five meters to more than 400 meters.
Please contact Rockwell Collins for more information on our innovative Soldier Systems.
