Rockwell Collins has played a prominent role in Very Low Frequency/Low Frequency (VLF/LF) communication systems over the past
four decades, continuously investing in our product lines to remain a premier supplier of these systems. Our hands-on experience
in the design and development of advanced VLF/LF systems has allowed us to maintain a leading role in custom developments
operating at these frequencies.
MMRT The Rockwell Collins Modified Miniature Receiver Terminal (MMRT) supports survivable, VLF/LF communications links. The MMRT
ensures automatic reception and processing of secure, long-haul Emergency Action Messages (EAMs) in benign, hostile and nuclear-stressed
environments. It is also a common VLF/LF receiver solution for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy land, sea and airborne communication
platforms. The MMRT is a self-contained VLF/LF receiver/demodulator with automatic message processing and embedded cryptographic
equipment. This receiver provides digital signal processing with a wide dynamic range in a highly reliable package.
617A-1 250/300 kW VLF/LF Power Amplifier The Rockwell Collins 617A-1 250/300 kW VLF/LF Power Amplifier provides low cost of ownership coupled with high availability,
reliability and ease of maintenance. This system combines the output of 16 solid-state power amplifier modules to provide
transmitter power outputs of up to 2 megawatts. It has been designed to meet the U.S. Navy fleet broadcast requirements over
the 14-30 kHz VLF frequency range, as well as VLF/LF transmission requirements worldwide. Through Rockwell Collins' independent
research and development, the range was extended to cover the LF band of 30-160 kHz. The Rockwell Collins 617A-1 250/300 kW
VLF/LF Power Amplifier assures maximum radiated power through an antenna matching system interface which provides constant
surveillance to track environmentally induced variations.
10-100 kW Solid-State LF Power Amplifier The Rockwell Collins scaleable 10-100 kW Solid-State Low Frequency (LF) Power Amplifier is based on the 617-A-1 architecture
and provides a flexible, low-power unit to address more limited propagation requirements in the 30 -160 kHz frequency range.
The LF power amplifier is an all solid-state transmitter designed to operate with several modulation systems including 300
bps Minimum Shift Keying (MSK) and 75 bps Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) modes per STANAG 5065, as well as 100 bps FSK. Our
10 kW solid-state LF power amplifier is designed to meet LF transmission requirements over the 30 to 160 kHz frequency range,
providing full power to a fixed site LF antenna. Additionally, this transmitter can be controlled locally or by remote control.
