ANA (All Nippon Airways) selects Rockwell Collins’ in-flight entertainment system

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (September 27, 2004) - ANA has selected Rockwell Collins Audio Video Entertainment System (PAVES™) for four Boeing 737 aircraft with the potential for 41 additional orders. Delivery is scheduled to begin in October 2005.

PAVES offers overhead video on 10.4-inch retractable monitors and 24 channels of high-fidelity, digital in-seat audio programming.  The monitors offer passengers wide viewing angles with crisp and bright picture quality.

The PAVES system was the first programmable audio/video entertainment system for single-aisle aircraft. The system is currently installed on nearly 600 aircraft and has been enhanced to reduce power consumption and weight. Features and functionality include retractable monitors and a completely redesigned user interface that allows for simple one-touch operation.  PAVES provides interfaces for up to seven unique video sources, including: satellite television, moving map, landscape camera and video reproducer units.  In addition, the Audio Distribution System (ADS) allows passengers access to 22 standard audio channels and overhead video soundtracks.
