Sichuan Airlines, Rockwell Collins ink avionics agreement

FARNBOROUGH (July 19, 2004) - Sichuan Airlines Co., Ltd., has selected Rockwell Collins an one of the avionics providers on four new Airbus A319 aircraft. Delivery is scheduled to begin in October.

The Collins WXR-2100 MultiScan Weather Radar is included in the avionics package. The WXR-2100 Multiscan Weather Radar is a fully automatic radar that reduces pilot work load and enhances safety and passenger comfort by reducing unexpected turbulence encounters. MultiScan provides optimal weather detection from the nose of the aircraft to 320 nautical miles.

Other Rockwell Collins equipment chosen by Sichuan Airlines includes the ADF-900 Automatic Direction Finder, DME-900 Distance Measuring Equipment, HFS-900 High Frequency System, CPL-920D Coupling Unit and the VOR-900 VHF Omnidirectional Radio.
