Iberia selects Rockwell Collins to supply avionics for new Airbus aircraft

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (December 08, 2003) - Rockwell Collins has been selected by Iberia to supply avionics equipment on seven new Airbus A340-600 aircraft with an option for five more. Delivery is scheduled for 2004.

Among the products selected by Iberia is the Collins Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR), an integrated unit that provides the aircraft's primary position, velocity and time reference, and enables precision landing capability.

The Collins SAT-906 Satellite Communications system was also selected. The system provides global voice communications as well as high-speed data communications for passengers to access e mail and Internet using Inmarsat's Swift64 services.

Other Collins equipment chosen by Iberia includes the ADF-900 Automatic Direction Finder, DME-900 Distance Measuring Equipment, HFS-900 High Frequency Communication System, CPL-920D Digital Coupler, VOR-900 VHF Omnidirectional Range, VHF-920 Very High Frequency Transceiver and TPR-901 Transponder.
