Eurowings Selects Rockwell Collins Flight Dynamics Heads-Up Guidance System for CRJ Fleet
PORTLAND, Ore. (October 10, 2001) - Eurowings, a Lufthansa partner based in Dortmund, Germany, has selected Rockwell Collins Flight Dynamics Head-up Guidance
System (HGS®) for installation on its new fleet of Bombardier CRJ 200 aircraft. Eurowings has 15 firm orders for the CRJ 200
and options for an additional 30.
"Flight Dynamics HGS® offers us the ability to operate in Category III weather conditions," said Captain Peter Koritzius,
Director of Flight Operations for Eurowings. "This will allow our passengers to arrive on-time at their destinations or make
their Lufthansa connections, even in low-visibility weather conditions."
With the HGS®device, critical flight information is displayed in the pilot's forward field of view. Aircraft flight path and
acceleration symbols appear overlaying the outside scene enhancing situational awareness, improving energy management and
increasing touchdown precision.
Rockwell Collins Flight Dynamics, Portland, Ore., is the industry leader in aircraft Head-up Guidance Systems. The company’s
patented HGS® technology is certified and operating on business, regional, airline and military transport, and has accumulated
over six million flight hours in revenue service.
