Collins Pro Line 21 Continuum-Equipped Challenger 601 Completes Initial Flight Tests
NEW ORLEANS (December 12, 2001) - A Challenger 601 equipped with Rockwell Collins'
Pro Line 21 Continuum has completed initial flight tests. The aircraft, featuring a fully integrated
Pro Line 21 Continuum avionics package is expected to be certified early next year.
The Challenger 601 installation features four 10 x 8-inch LCD Adaptive Flight Displays, fully integrated autopilot, FMS-6000
Flight Management System, AHS-3000 Attitude Heading Reference System, TCAS-4000 Traffic Alert Collision Avoidance System,
TWR-850 Turbulence-detection Weather Radar and Collins Pro Line radio sensors.
Designed to provide flight deck growth to meet future airspace requirements, the fully integrated Pro Line 21 Continuum system
provides advanced capabilities that increase performance and ease pilot workload. These capabilities include data communications,
up-linked graphical weather and
3-D FMS flight plan maps. The system also supports such future functionality as electronic charting, improved terrain awareness
and enhanced mapping, further increasing crew efficiency and situational awareness.
