Qatar Airways selects Rockwell Collins avionics for Boeing fleet

DUBAI (November 11, 2007) - Qatar Airways has selected a broad suite of Rockwell Collins avionics, including the MultiScan Hazard Detection™ System, for 20 Boeing 777s with an option for 20 additional aircraft.

"MultiScan continues to be a key differentiator for our customers and we're excited that Qatar Airways has selected this important technology for their new Boeing 777s," said Jeff Standerski, vice president and general manager of Air Transport Systems for Rockwell Collins.

Rockwell Collins' award-winning WXR-2100 MultiScan Hazard Detection System is the first and only radar that analyzes and determines actual weather hazards, not simply atmospheric moisture content. MultiScan is a fully automatic, hands-free airborne radar system with more than four years of operational experience that reduces pilot workload and enhances safety and passenger comfort by minimizing unexpected turbulence encounters, and provides optimal clutter-free weather detection from the nose of the aircraft to 320 nautical miles.

Also selected by Qatar Airways is Rockwell Collins' Traffic Collision Avoidance System and SAT-2100 satellite navigation with dual SwiftBroadband and the full suite of communications, navigation and sensors.

Rockwell Collins (NYSE: COL) is a pioneer in the development and deployment of innovative communication and aviation electronic solutions for both commercial and government applications. Our expertise in flight deck avionics, cabin electronics, mission communications, information management and simulation and training is delivered by 20,000 employees, and a global service and support network that crosses 27 countries.
