Rockwell Collins unveils Engineering Services Solutions
ATLANTA (April 18, 2007) - Customers of Rockwell Collins products now have access to a new service offering that aims to enhance the life cycle of their
current products while increasing functionality and reliability.
This new offering, Engineering Services Solutions (ESS), is available to commercial and government customers for a broad range
of aircraft. ESS provides modifications, enhancements and preventative maintenance services to select Rockwell Collins products.
"With ESS, customers now have access to a service program that provides new capabilities and increased reliability to existing
products, in addition to our proven maintenance and repair services," explains John Fischer, Senior Director, ESS for Rockwell
Collins.
ESS is being launched with more than 30 candidate solutions. Two notable examples include adding Wide Area Augmentation System
(WAAS), Area Navigation (R-NAV), Localizer Precision Vertical (LPV) capabilities to existing GPS products and inserting newer
RF technology into older generation radar products, which improves performance while reducing parts count, power consumption,
operating temperature and maintenance complexity.
Rockwell Collins expects to further expand its ESS offerings and capabilities to meet marketplace demand.
