Rockwell Collins receives a contract to provide displays for the USAF B-1B
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (July 13, 2005) - Rockwell Collins, a leader in advanced display technology, announced today that it has been awarded a contract from The Boeing
Company to provide the display for the B-1B Threat Situation Awareness System (TSAS) upgrade.
"This contract represents a platform extension opportunity for Rockwell Collins," said John Borghese, vice president, general
manager, Rockwell Collins Display Systems. "It increases our product portfolio by introducing a new display capability for
the B-1B and strengthens our long relationship with Boeing as an innovative supplier of cockpit display system solutions to
the warfighter."
Under this contract Rockwell Collins will provide a high performance eight by six-inch Multi-Function Display (MFD) capable
of displaying high resolution images of flight information such as altitude and heading information. In addition to providing
the flight crew with standard flight information the display system will increase situational awareness and enhance crew effectiveness
by enabling in-flight mission planning and will support connectivity to Link 16, as well as other data links, allowing improved
targeting and threat avoidance.
