Rockwell Collins launches flexible retrofit solution with IDS-3000

ORLANDO, Fla. (October 06, 2003) - Rockwell Collins is introducing the IDS-3000 Integrated Display System to its Pro Line 21 family of products and systems for retrofit applications. This new display system provides business aircraft operators with the flexibility to easily replace existing analog and EFIS equipment with large, informative displays, increasing situational awareness.

"The Collins IDS-3000 system is a cost-effective way to update the flight deck enhancing the aircraft's capabilities and value," said Denny Helgeson, vice president and general manager of Business and Regional Systems for Rockwell Collins. "This system is flexible and supports growth to meet future operational requirements."

The system features large-format active-matrix LCD technology that integrates with most existing aircraft sensors, radios, flight management and autopilot systems. The IDS-3000 improves situational awareness on the flight deck by integrating critical flight information in a single easy-to-interpret format.

The Collins IDS-3000 is designed to support advanced capabilities including electronic charting, graphical weather radar, controller pilot data link communication and communication, navigation and surveillance capabilities.

Collins Pro Line 21 Continuum enables operators to select the level of capabilities desired while maximizing life cycle cost improvements. Designed to support changing airspace and operational requirements, the advanced avionics may be applied in a number of flight deck configurations based on operational requirements. Operators may choose between integrated systems or individual products, including LCD flight displays, data communications, advanced flight management and hazard avoidance capabilities.
