Collins Pro Line 21 Continuum-Equipped Falcon 50 Completes First Flight

NEW ORLEANS (December 12, 2001) - A Falcon 50 business jet equipped with Rockwell Collins' Pro Line 21 Continuum has completed initial flight tests. The installation is the first to feature a fully integrated Pro Line 21 Continuum avionics package. Certification is expected by the end of the year, bringing the total number of Continuum certifications to seven.

The Falcon 50 installation features four 10 x 8-inch LCD Adaptive Flight Displays, a fully integrated autopilot, FMS-6000 Flight Management System, AHS-3000 Attitude Heading Reference System, TCAS-4000 Traffic Alert Collision Avoidance System, TWR-850 Turbulence-detection Weather Radar and Collins Pro Line radio sensors.

Designed to provide flight deck growth to meet future airspace requirements, the fully integrated Pro Line 21 Continuum system provides advanced capabilities that increase performance and ease pilot workload. These capabilities include data communications, up-linked graphical weather and 3-D FMS flight plan maps. The system also supports such future functionality as electronic charting, improved terrain awareness and enhanced mapping, further increasing crew efficiency and situational awareness.
