Rockwell Collins Aviation Services Signs Strategic Alliance Agreement with Air New Zealand to Pursue Common Business Interests

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (July 22, 2002) - Rockwell Collins Australia Pty. Ltd., has signed a Strategic Alliance Agreement with Air New Zealand, Ltd. to jointly pursue common business interests. Recently, a Business Agreement and Maintenance Support Agreement were signed to allow for full service aircraft maintenance for commercial air transport and business aircraft as well as regional airline customers in need of service and support.

Rockwell Collins Aviation Services (CAS) will provide maintenance repair and technical support from the new Auckland Service Centre and the current Melbourne Service Centre on a fixed price per flight hour basis on Air New Zealand's fleet of 14 B767s, 18 B737s, and 8 B747s under the 3-year agreement.

Air New Zealand Engineering Services (ANZES) will provide full service maintenance, including repair capability for engines and the airframe, composite and interior repair and refurbishment, as well as reliability data and cost control.

Collins Aviation Services' global network of more than 60 locations provides repair and overhaul of avionics equipment for commercial, business and military operators. CAS' capabilities include on-board services, service parts, training services, technical information services, and technical services.
