Low Cost Series

455 kHz IF Low Cost Series

A Low-cost Series of torsional mechanical filters has been designed for use in 455 kHz IF circuits. The CW filter has 7 resonators; the SSB and AM filters have 8 resonators. These filters are a stock item and can be purchased in any quantity. Case style is the plastic PS package

Other torsional filter designs are available, but usually not as stock items. These filters may have as few as two resonators or as many as 12 resonators along with a range of other center frequencies, bandwidths, and response shapes. The performance characteristics listed above are typical for the filters shown in the attenuation versus frequency curves shown by clicking "Plot". The low ripple and low frequency shift values can be maintained over a temperature range of -35°C to +85°C. Predicted frequency shift due to aging is less than 30 Hz over the lifetime of the filter.
