Glen T. (Tommy) Dodson is vice president & general manager, Surface Solutions for Rockwell Collins. In this role, Dodson is responsible for land and sea based systems solutions including ground vehicles, soldier, maritime and fixed site solutions. He was named to the position in May 2011. In addition, Dodson oversees the company’s Richardson, Texas, facility.
Dodson, who joined the company in 1978, has been associated with the in-flight entertainment business since its acquisition by Rockwell Collins. He previously served as vice president and general manager, Cabin Systems. In that role, Dodson was responsible for cabin information management systems serving the air transport and business jet markets.
Dodson has also served as vice president and general manager, Passenger Systems, and business development director for the company’s Communication Systems Division (CSD), a leading supplier of communication systems and related services to the U.S. Department of Defense and more than 27 other countries worldwide.
In 1994, Dodson was named program manager for Rockwell Collins’ Secure Mobile Anti-jam Reliable Tactical Terminal program.
Dodson has held a variety of positions in the finance and contracting fields, including manager, Financial Planning/GFA, from 1992 to 1994, and manager, Contracts and Proposals, from 1989 to 1990.
Dodson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of North Texas and a Master of Business Administration degree from Abilene Christian University.
